Did y'all see this Halloween costume that was linked from the most recent American Libraries email?

Thanks for this! This costume is inspiring an update to my own lj...

HAHA! It's sold out! Has anyone seen that naughty wizard costume complete with Griffindor colors?

the SKIRT is made of BOOKS. i am anti-this. pro-sexy librarian, but the costume could've been so much better!

HMmm but what would work better and keep it from just being a naughty school girl? (No really, I'm curious lol)

jhrtirjfgfjkcfh: super sexy librarian?

in their effort to prohibit the cardigan from coverting her bulging assets, they have made it look like a cape.

It's a shawl ;)

I like it!

That's not the standard uniform?

I have been seriously misled about this particular career path.

I've decided to wear that for our annual Halloween story time. Think my patrons will like it?

As long as you wear leggings underneath...You don't want to be TOO naughty, after all ;)

I really hate this.

That's kind of where I am. I'm kind of happy that for once librarians are not stereotyped as old, timid, and frigid, but at the same time I feel like now we're being packaged and sold as a fetish. I'm obviously putting too much thought into this. :)

I love your icon. Any chance I could steal it?

Also, I pretty much agree. I'm happy about it, but also not. I get very tired of having some people hit on me 'Ooo, a librarian, lets get naughty.'

I like that icon too :)

I don't mind you stealing it, but I didn't make it. It came from someone named ryuji, so as long as you credit her, I don't see a problem. It's not a "real" icon anyway, but a filler icon for a contest :)

Note that it comes with the pointy glasses and the "Naughty Librarian" nametag.

One of our male librarians promised to wear it...if it came with the cleavage.

I think it's funny.

As an evening closing supervisor who is having to work on halloween, I'm debating between going as a school girl or a "librarian"... I think the difference I worked out is in plaid vs. black pleated skirt and the presence or absence of a sweatervest. Then again, would that be too much of a reward for studying your biology homework on Halloween?

It's creepy that I actually am wearing a sweater vest right now--and have a vast collection of cardigans.

I like the top and the glasses, but I don't care for the skirt part. And unless it's really well made, I don't think it's worth that much.
